Metal Decking is a high strength galvanized profiled steel panel used for slab casting in the construction of a concrete roof and floor. The panel’s design includes a ribbed profile, rolled embossments, and a male and female rib on either side of the panel that creates an interlocking side-lap joint during assembly. Once assembled, the decking panel becomes a permanent and positive reinforcement. Furthermore, it is designed to provide a high strength to weight ratio. Its 2.5 inch deep, ribbed profile and rolled embossments allows an excellent bond between the panel and the concrete as it cures. This results in a much lighter and stronger structure because it allows for a reduction in concrete slab & slab thickness. It also minimizes the requirement for steel reinforcement significantly without compromising its structural strength. In turn, the significant weight reduction allows for longer clear spans. The need for supports during curing is greatly reduced because of the structural strength of the panel.

Using metal decking panels can result in a very cost effective construction. This is especially beneficial for multi-storeyed buildings. A massive reduction in weight means lower foundation sizes, a reduction in cost of construction materials, labor and construction time. To further maximize work efficiency on-site as well as speed of construction, metal decking panels can be delivered in pre-cut lengths according to your construction requirements.
